When you first decide to start your own bounce house business, there is a lot to think about. You have to start thinking about what you’ll charge for rentals, how you’re going to store and transport your houses, and of course you’ll have to think about what inflatables manufacturer you want to purchase your bounce houses from. But one thing that you should know is that there is a huge difference between a typical bounce house, that is one that you can purchase in almost any large retail outlet, and a commercial bounce house.
The Differences
Bounce houses are huge business now – a number of years ago the only way that you could get your hands on one was to own your own business, but now parents are so interested in keeping their children entertained, inflatables manufacturers have started to sell bounce houses that are designed for residential use. These houses are not what you should purchase for your bounce house business, as they are designed to work for a few children and only for a set amount of time, whereas commercial units are designed to withstand so much more.
Residential units are made of a type of plastic that is not as thick as the commercial grade plastic used in commercial units. That isn’t because the inflatables manufacturer wants to gyp the person purchasing the inflatable, but rather because they’re not designed to work for large crowds, only for small ones. They’re perfect to set up at home if you have a small party for your child, but they’re not designed to withstand all of the abuse that a commercial grade inflatable is designed to handle.
Commercial grade inflatables, ones that you’ll purchase from a well-known inflatables manufacturer, are created to withstand a serious amount of abuse. These inflatables are made of high quality, extremely dense fabric so that they can handle a large number of children going up and down them, over and over. They’re also a great deal heavier than a residential unit as well. If you’re starting your bounce house business, it can be tempting to want to purchase one of the residential units, as they’re generally much less expensive than the commercial ones. This is not a good idea, however, as you’ll quickly find that the unit is not able to withstand the abuse that your regular customers are going to put it through and you’ll wind up purchasing another unit and spending even more money than you would if you simply purchased a commercial grade unit in the first place.
